"Summer River Bed, Winter Flood Plain" is a flat area of ground that has been sculpted to create the effect of a dry riverbed. The ground was excavated and rock structures built using paving stones and cement applied with a large brush. Tons of shingle and cobbles have been added to the area. Grass is excluded.

The majority of the trees, shrubs, and other vegetation are evergreen. Flowers are restricted to alpines as large flowers would destroy the illusion of extended space created by the landscape arrangement.
